Kindergarten Here I Come!

Welcome to Liberty Ridge's Preschool Graduation, 2010!

Here I am waiting for the teacher to put my graduation cap on.

Ms. Tracy helped put the cap on me. That thing didn't want to stay on my head and kept falling of during the entire ceremony.

Don't I look like an almost kindergartener?

Marching out of the classroom onto the hill for the program.

Before we got our diplomas we sang our parents a couple of songs.

After the songs, Ms Angela started to give out the diplomas. I waited and waited for mine...

Oh why couldn't my last name start with an "A"?

Finally! Ms Angela said 'Congratulations' and everyone clapped for me.

My class celebrated our marvelous achievement.

Chicago Style Birthday

The morning of my birthday I woke up to find Auntie Coll and Uncle Mark's house decorated with all kinds of signs! I thought they were so cool! Especially this one of Mario Jake, Stinky, and Herbie (my pug friends).

We spent the morning playing at the park and then had a birthday lunch. Do you know what came after lunch?

PRESENTS!!!

I couldn't believe that there were presents for me all the way in Chicago. How did they get here?

I waited as patiently as I could and then I ripped into them...

Here's one of my favorite presents- an electronic bank. You know, I'm saving up for a Nintendo DS.

The gamer in me loved Uno Attack- Uno is my all time favorite game to play. Later that evening I challenged everyone to a game, and I have to say I did win the majority of the games!

I got to help decorate my birthday cake. Oh, wait. I take that back- I helped decorate BOTH of my birthday cakes. The sprinkles are my specialty.

There was a chocolate cake and an ice cream cake. They were super yummy!

Five candles on my cake! Can you believe it, I'm finally 5. Five is such a cool age- you can skate board, you can get a DS, and you can eat bubble gum! Lily and Devin have so much to look forward to.

I can't tell you what I wished for, but the initials are DS

When Mom asked me what was my favorite part of the birthday party I said "Matthew" (that's him in the background)

I had a great birthday in Chicago! Thanks Auntie Coll and Uncle Mark (oh and the pugs, too) for making it such a special day.

Cellular Field-The White Sox Stadium

This is Cellular Field- Home of the Chicago White Sox. It's not the Twins Stadium- but it's still pretty cool. And as Mom said- if she still lived in Chicago she'd be a White Sox fan (so it's all good).

Mommy's friend Jen works for the White Sox and offered to give us a behind the scenes tour of the stadium. What a sweet job- maybe I could work for the Twins one day?

We got to walk through the tunnels the players walk through to get to the field. Did you know that right before they head out they can get some popcorn and drinks? And they don't even have to walk- they can use a golf cart to get around!

Here we are in the Visitor's dug out. It's not as nice as the home teams (duh!), but we had to stay loyal to the Twins.

The field is awesome! It is HUGE. They cut the grass every day- that must be why it looks so green and perfect.

Lily and I roamed around the stadium. We ran up and down the aisles and decided that the seats at the very top were our favorites (not the best seats in the house we were told, but what a view). Teddy needed to rest so she plopped herself down in a front row seat above the White Sox dugout (prime seats)

Yes, we wore Twins gear to the ballpark. Here I am yelling "Safe" at first base.

We weren't allowed to walk on the dirt- the grass was just for us to run around on and pretend we were playing baseball.

What a great experience this was! I think Dad loved it as much as I did.

I think maybe when I'm not being a policeman I'll be a Twins player- yeah that sounds like a good idea!

The Dog Days of Spring

Meet Auntie Coll and Uncle Mark's pug Stinky. He is 18 years old (I think Jake said he's as old as Grandpa!!!). Stinky was the one left behind to greet us after our 8 hour car ride to Chicago. Devin was very excited to meet him...it's a wonder Stinky even came out after meeting us all.

Stinky and Devin spent the mornings lounging in the kitchen sunning themselves.

Auntie Coll and Uncle Mark have another pug. His name is Herbie. Lily, however, couldn't remember it so she called him either "Barbie" or "Harvey"!

Lily was a little bit afraid of Herbie at first- he's a puppy and very jumpy. Herbie even managed to knock Devin over a couple of times! By the end of our trip, Lily was head over heels in love with Barbie (I mean Herbie)

And yes, do not adjust your screens. This is not trick photography. Jake REALLY liked the pugs. He petted them and took them for walks.

He even fed them carrots as treats. Did you know that pugs LOVE carrots?

We had a great time meeting and playing with Stinky and Herbie...can we get one?

Chef Devin

Did you know that I adore cooking?! I have access to all the pots and pans as well as the cooking utensils. The only thing I'm not entirely clear on is why I have to cook on the kitchen floor and not on the stove like mommy? Oh, I try my best to use the stove, but I'm always banished here- on the floor.

No problem- Fruit Loop Soup tastes great anywhere I make it. Excuse me, I think they're almost done. I just need to taste a little bit...

Blurgle...gurgle..murgle (it's hard to talk with a mouth full of food)

DeEee-li-cious!

Oh no. Word has spread that I am making my famous Fruit Loop Soup! They are swarming around me like vultures (is this how Mommy feels when she cooks? Nah!)

There's only a little bit left after Jake and Lily got at my Fruit Loop Soup...HANDS OFF! The rest is mine.
